What 6.NS.A.1 Covers

Grade 6, The Number System, Cluster A (apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication and division to divide fractions by fractions). The standard asks students to interpret and compute quotients of fractions, and to solve word problems involving division of fractions by fractions using visual fraction models and equations.

Scope note: this generator drills the numeric computation — (a/b) ÷ (c/d), simplified — using "flip and multiply." It doesn't include the word-problem contexts or visual fraction models the standard also asks for.

Where It Fits

The capstone of the K–6 fraction-operations progression, building on 5.NF.B.4's fraction multiplication. It leads into Grade 6's broader rational-number work (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing signed numbers).
