Grade 8, Geometry, Cluster A (understand congruence and similarity using physical models, transparencies, or geometry software). The full standard uses informal arguments to establish facts about the angle sum and exterior angle of triangles, the angles formed when parallel lines are cut by a transversal, and the angle-angle criterion for similarity of triangles.
Scope note: this generator covers the triangle angle sum portion of 8.G.A.5 — given two of a triangle's three angles, find the third. Exterior-angle, parallel-line/transversal, and angle-angle similarity problems aren't part of this tool yet.
Builds directly on 7.G.B.5's supplementary, complementary, and vertical angle facts. The angle sum fact practiced here is the foundation for the parallel-line and triangle-similarity arguments students meet later in the same cluster, and for formal proof in high school geometry.
